VIBRO has a rather naughty name, but it's the noise that makers Compact want you to notice. A sonic transducer — which creates sound by rattling whatever it is placed upon — VIBRO Sounder seeks to turn your desk, table or pergo into its unwitting ally.
Though perfectly sound in principle (so to speak), many seem to find the idea of such arbitrary sound-boarding somehow unlikely to provide the quality of a dedicated, in-speaker diaphragm. Hence, perhaps, such marketing as follows, containing a charming example of magical thinking:
The 6cm x 6cm x 5cm, half-kilo aluminium box comes in black and offers 20 Watts (RMS) of amplification, a remote control and standard 3.5mm jacks. I love the tiny looks, but that's rather a lot of wiring; tagged at $184, it's shipping now.
