It's after Halloween, but it's not fair to let this vintage 1965 Sears, Roebuck ad for Batman and Superman costumes wait until next year.
"Tim — convinced a Kryptonian heritage is the only explanation for his dim-witted Mom and Dad — straps on his cape and hurls himself off the family high rise to prove his theory. Meanwhile, keenly attuned bat sonar warning of danger from above, Ralph squats and braces for impact."
The ad is part of a larger collection, posted at the Vintage Ads Live Journal Community, featuring such notable Sears, Roebuck costumes as... a stereotypical Indian and smallpox bearing frontiersman! Everyone's favorite Satanic British nanny, Mary Poppins! And, of course, a ghost with the word "Boo!" actually printed upon his ectoplasmic shroud.
