
David Becker over at Wired's Gear Factor blog posted an item today about Amazon having sold a $19,999 Trekstor i.Beat Organix Gold 1GB MP3 player over the holiday season. Although the player only holds one gigabyte – pricing each megabyte of storage at nearly $20 – the main allure of the player is that it is covered in a full carat of diamonds (63 individual stones) and 18 carats of gold.
How did such a player ever come into existence? Because some guy specifically wanted to own the most expensive MP3 player in the world. According to TrekStor,
