"how did you get started hunting for meteorites?"

What makes you think none of us have science backgrounds? Allow me to unfold your cringe by saying that I have a science background (and have been covering science and technology for 13 years, from the Harvard Health Letter to Newsweek to Wired). Aomowa has a science background. Our producers have decades of experience in science TV, from Mythbusters to Nova. So, nyah nyah nyah.

Furthermore: how is it useless to ask about the backgrounds of people doing the work we're covering? If you read Wired—and I hope you do—you know that we are storytellers. And if you want to live in the illusion that the science speaks for itself, without the context of the researchers and other interested folks involved, I can point you to some excellent journals. But stay away from the news sections; they quote human beings all the time.
