Mac weenies have filled in another hypothetical piece of Apple’s as-yet mythical iPhone, thanks to a recent patent filing.
The proposed invention covers a new type of electrically conductive ceramic that could serve as the case material for consumer electronic devices. The filing specifically mentions the utility of such a material for building light but powerful “portable computing devices,” leading to immediate speculation that this will be the stuff that wraps the iPhone.
The kicker is that the material is already out there on the fingers of millions of Wal-Mart brides. We’re talking about Zirconia, the backbone of the type of jewelry my wife considers immediate grounds for divorce.
Guess unobtainium would have been too expensive.
