San Francisco-based technology writer James Kim embarked on a road trip to Seattle with his wife and kids last Friday, but they haven't been spotted since. The official missing persons report has the details, and photos of the family.

Here's hoping that they're merely stuck in some out-of-the-way Washington motel without internet access or cellular coverage, waiting for the weather to clear up. They were last seen by a hotel clerk at 5:45 PM on Saturday in or between Gold Beach or Portland, Oregon, according to Engadget, while C|Net's own Crave blog reports he drives a Silver '05 Saab with the tag "DOESF."

Anyone with information about the Kim family's whereabouts should call the San Francisco police at 415-558-5508, or at 415-553-1071 after hours.
