1up reports that DS hackers are getting ready to start shipping a DS add-on that adds motion sensitivity to the system.
According to the official site, the unit "contains a 3-axis accelerometer and a single-axis gyroscope, and plugs into the DS card slot to enable full motion sensing on the DS and the DS lite."
More technical info about the card is available at the page, and you can pre-order it from DSPassme.com (they're scheduled to go out in January).
Obviously, this is only going to be used by homebrew developers for independent projects and won't actually be used in games you can buy at retail. Although I wonder if someone will hack up a ROM of Kirby's Tilt 'n Tumble for Game Boy Color and get that to work with this...
