Forrester analyzed iTunes sales over a 27 month period and found what the Register calls a "collapse" in sales.
While Forrester cautions against making too big of a deal out of the decline, I chalk it up to a healthy disrespect for DRM. Most people are still buying CDs (although sales of those have declined as well). I bet the labels wish they'd made a deal with the original Napster back when they had the chance.
