Let's put some more bullshit to rest. The Associated Press is reporting today that Nintendo is offering free replacements for any of the first batch of Wii remote wrist straps, of which there are about 3 million currently out there.
This is not a recall. Why? Because they're not asking for the old ones back! All you have to do is sign up and they'll mail you new ones in two weeks; meanwhile, the replacement form page suggests that you continue using the old ones as long as you read their Manual For How Not To Be An Idiot.
I guess Nintendo had to do something, but painting this as a "massive recall" is completely wrong.
