Cell biologists gathered in San Diego this week and tried to come up with three-minute poems that expressed scientific principles.

Here's one verse about growing cells on a matrix of proteins:

"It could be fibronectin or laminin,
Or it could be collagen — like the lips of Pam Anderson."

And there was this appeal for funding, sung to the tune of "Let it Snow":

"The funding levels are frightful
But my grant is so insightful,
I hope that you'll let me know,
It's a go, it's a go, it's a go!"

Oh. No.
