Sherlock Holmes Vs. Cthulhu!

Is there any evil that the cold, precise logic of Sherlock Holmes can't vanquish? First, he vanquished Professor Moriarty at Reichenbach Falls. Then, in the 1940's Basil Rathbone incarnation, Sherlock Holmes took on the Nazis. Heck, in Sherlock Holmes' expanded universe, he's fought Dracula at least a couple of times. What next but to pit the logical intellect of the world's greatest detective against the ultimate incarnation of cosmic madness... Great Lord Cthulhu?

It all happens in the coming PC adventure game Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened:

It begins, as is traditional, at 221b Baker Street. Watson's arrival brings news of the mysterious disappearance of a young Maori maid who works for one of Watson's patients, Captain Stenwick.

Holmes believes it to be kidnapping, proven correct when he discovers similar cases reported in the press and by certain interrogated individuals. Holmes has his suspects but is unable to come up with a motive for the crimes. He sets about uncovering one, the trail leading to an underground sect of religious fanatics, worshippers of the Old Ones and Cthulhu.

This is less cool than James Bond Vs. Cthulhu, but only slightly less so. Of course, If you can't wait until the game comes out, though, there's always Shadows Over Baker Street, a Sherlock Holmes Meets Lovecraft Omnibus.
