Sing a Song of Bodyhack

You know it. I know it. We all know it: Your blog ain't nothing in this world until it's inspired a guy in Ann Arbor to write a song about it.

Finally, it's happened to us.

Tom Smith, a Michigan songwriter with a lot of time on his hands a keen eye for up-and-coming blogs, recently recorded "Bodyhacking."

As he writes:

... Wired Magazine has an online column devoted to biotechnology called "Bodyhack". Naturally, this term hacked its way into a different corner of my brain, the one that recalls conversations with people regarding who would be the first of us to get WiFi implants when they become available. And I started to wonder how far it could go. Because there's no question that it will.

And who is this fantabulous Tom Smith? Why, he may be the world's fastest filker:

"A lot of us are social misfits and don't know how to talk to people," says Tom Smith, an affable, bearded mountain of a man. "This is how we do it." Smith is known as the world's fastest filker. To prove it, he removes his guitar from a case covered with Geek Speak and Dr. Demento stickers, and composes a ditty:

I'm writing this for Alanna Nash.

they're paying her cash.
I hope her interview will include me
I hope that they'll put me on page 23!
