Normally we'd be all, like, "Big whoop!" about another USB thumb drive, but this one is from Sony and is apparently part of a new uberstrategy to change the way people buy pre-recorded media. (Sound familar?)
After entering the U.S. market a few months ago as the Micro Vault Tiny, Sony has started selling its 1-inch long, brightly colored drives in Japan under the equally melodius moniker Pocket Bit Mini.
For now, the devices are doing the usual thumb drive tasks, but Sony expects say they expect it to also become a medium for selling music, movies and other content.
