From the Dept. of "So, Whadda We Know?" -- We earlier accused Seagate of pushing the limits of common sense with an 8GB memory card for digital cameras.
But now Sony and flash memory dudes SanDisk are talking about 32GB cards. The companies announced a new "Pro-HG" version of Sony's Memory Stick format, which has gone on to conquer all manner of Sony products. The cards will boast write speeds up to 60 MB/sec., three times faster than current Memory Stick Pro models. Capacity can go up to 32GB.
While the cards might be useful for USB-phobic photographers, the real market is likely to be in video cameras. Expect cards to hit the street early next year.
