Npd_1Sony has issued a statement in regards to the recent NPD estimates of November game sales, in which it was shown that PlayStation 3 shipments were about half of what was expected for the month. They are still sticking with their estimate of one million PlayStation 3s by year-end:

And while initial day-one launch shipment goals weren't achievable due to early manufacturing issues, those problems have been resolved and we do remain focused on having one million PS3's [sic] in the pipeline by December 31, 2006.

We'll see how this pans out when NPD releases their December numbers in early January.
