When a Band Changes Your Life

It doesn't happen often, but a band can change your life. Even though this hasn't happened to me in a little while, it's thrilling to read about it happening to other people. Take this piece on Suicide Girls (transparency: I worked for the SG Newswire for about a month one time), in which Helen Jupiter has a band change her life in the middle of the desert. It starts promisingly:

"I awaken in the morning to find that my savagely dehydrated body iscovered with the scrawling text of a Sharpie marker. The whisky-infusedsweat I’ve been secreting all night long has mingled with the ink,
ruining the pale dress I slept in. The directions to last night’s partyare on my left calf. They read something like, “Lt Yucca Mesaamarg. RtInezztibbar.” A song is stuck in my head, and the lyrics keeprepeating, over and over again:
