If you really can't wait to get your hands on Windows Vista, there's always the People's Republic of China.
Designer/blogger Stephen Wahrhaftig got curious about software availability on a trip earlier this month to the Worker's Paradise and decided to see how long it would take to get a copy of Vista.
In about 20 minutes, he found a two-disc set labeled as Windows Vista Ultimate, available for a mere $2.50, a discount of about $398 from the price for a legitimate U.S. version.
He hasn't been brave/foolhardy/unethical enough to install it, but the package makes a cheap if unconventional souvenir.
