It's not permanent, but the sale -- at the famous Don Quixote chain of discount electronics stores in Japan -- on the 20-gigabyte model PS3 has seen the price knocked down 20% to under 40,000 yen. The fact that the sale only runs until February 14 makes it seem as if they're just trying to get rid of their overstock, then bring the price back in line later.

What's really hilarious about these signs, as pointed out by Akiba-Blog, is what's written on them. The blue speech balloons say, "The PS3 reached this price so quickly!" and "We're sorry, Sony." Ouch. You might remember Don Quixote from playing Yakuza.
