Over at the Xbox Scene forums, it's being reported that the latest run of Xbox 360 machines are using a new, quieter DVD drive manufactured by BenQ, which apparently is replacing all the other drives they've used thus far from Toshiba/Samsung and Hitachi/LG. Too bad for the ten million people who already bought an Xbox 360 and have to put up with the WHIRRRRRRRRRRR; great for anybody who got an Xbox this Christmas.
