Scott Wyatt, R-Logan, has decided to abandon his bill that would make it illegal to sell M-rated games to minors in favor of a resolution that would ask Attorney General Mark Shurtleff to file "friend of the court" briefs on behalf of other states trying to pass similar bills. This show of support would allow Utah to, as Wyatt puts it "weigh in on the issue" without actually having to shell out any kind of major cash. In other words, it's a relatively gutless way to make a lot of noise on an issue without actually having to put your money where your mouth is. Politics at its finest.
