The International Intellectual Property Alliance (IIPA) wants Canada blacklisted as a haven for damn, dirty pirates. Kinda like Tortuga. Their quibble with the Great White North is their lax attitude towards copyright issues. Taking your camcorder to the movies and bootlegging the show? Totally legal in Canadaville, as are mod chips and other piracy-friendly tools. The US put Canada on a "low priority" watchlist three years ago, but the IIPA wants to upgrade that status to "priority watch list." If that happens, Canada's failure to address the US concerns, concerns could result in trade challenges at the World Trade Organization and/or possible sanctions. Also, keelhauling.
