Dell has started selling Sony TV sets via its Web site, as the PC maker finds it increasingly hard to compete on the "frickin' huge and expensive" end of the market.Bravia

The company said it will continued to sell Dell-branded flat-panels TVs with screens measuring 37 inches or less, but will add "a wide assortment of televisions from leading manufacturers that feature the latest technology and meet Dell's high standards for performance."

The first beneficiaries of Dell's new ecumenicalism are 40- and 46-inch Sony Bravia sets.

Dell earlier killed of its DJ Ditty digital music player in favor of selling devices from iPod rivals such as Creative and iRiver.
