Keith Urban sues namesake over website [Stuff]
Country-singer Keith Urban is fresh out of booze rehab and suing someone with the same name, who owns keithurban.com, for the domain. The reason the singer is suing might be because under ICANN's dispute resolution rules, he'd have no chance at all of relief: the current owner (a) has a legitimate claim to the domain, as his name is actually Keith Urban (The singer's birth name isn't); (b) the other Keith Urban is using it for a legitimate purpose, selling his paintings; and (c) there's no apparent evidence the domain was registed in "bad faith," that is, with some nefarious intention such as domain squatting. So the millionaire aims to crush him with an expensive, un-fightable lawsuit. If there was "more to it," such as domain ransoming, then singer Urban (illustrated right) would be able to get the name through the far cheaper domain dispute process.
