Even More ToM Headers, Tentacle Shaking!

You may have noticed we have a new header right now... namely, the one designed by Semper Bufo. If you are one of the many talented artists who submitted a header in response to our pleas, don't panic. We're just trying it on for size. It may not stick.

While we consider the aesthetic qualities of Semper Bufo's header, I wanted to post a couple other great headers we got in the mail.

Man, I love this one. This Cthulhu Meets Moscow Meets Raygun header is by Camillo Miller, who attached the music playlist he used to compose it: "Graham Nash , David Crosby , Django Reinhardt , Alvin Lee & Mylon Lefevre, Heineken bottles of fresh beer ( I need that launcher badly)"

His email is so charming I can't help but post it:

Hi all . I'm Camillo Miller ( that's a silly mafioso-sounding nickname ,I know ) and I'm writing from Italy . I'm a long time fan of ToM , (where long has the Internetian meaning of one-year-or-something). I read that you where seeking for someone to do to the header job ( don't be malicious ,you know what I mean ) you are to lazy to do , so here I come with my purpose hoping it's not too late . I dig the russian propaganda-cthulhu thing , so here's the result of my forty minutes long brain squeezing . I was tempted to put the big bronze face of a Stalin or Lenin statue in it , but since McCarty isn't enough dead there where you live , I discarded the idea . I'm still 22 and I'd like to come over there to take a look around in the near future ,but I'm not enough famous to say "good night and good luck" to those tall,black-dressed dudes from the agency at gate seven waiting for the spaghetti communist .

You know, if ToM could easily be rebranded, I'd seriously suggest Spaghetti Communist.

Chris Glenn was thoughtful and talented enough to paint this header for us. But as Chris explains...

When I went in to edit them, I realized that I had painted them in an aspect ratio that was a little off from the required 1000 x 100. Also: my photoshop-fu is weak, and although I tried several variations, I wasn't happy with any attempts I made to stick in a ToM logo on the banners. Feel free to fold, spindle, mutilate or adjust these to your heart's content.. I wish I had the time and expertise to do it myself.

Chris' entry is awesome, and we're going to also solicit your help: can you turn Chris' entry into a header for us, complete with logo? If so, send it in to us here.

At this point, we've got so many strong contenders I'm seriously considering just randomizing the header each visit. What do you guys think?
