"As G fans recall, Hedorah the Smog Monster was created because humans pumped so much sludge into the oceans and atmosphere that they created an enormous, dreck-eating beast who poops sludge and eats the goo from smokestacks. Since the flick was released in 1971, Hedorah also has a fondness for demolishing hippie love-ins full of guitar-strumming kids. Mostly, though, he serves as a warning to Japan and the world that if we don't stop with the emissions, we're going to be destroyed. 36 years later, it's looking like Hedorah would be more comfy than ever on our toasty, toxic planet."
