You can put more than inane pop music on an MP3 player! Like audio books! And little homemade audio snippets! Sometimes known as podcasts
The trendspotters at Associated Press have latched on to the fairly obvious again, noting that iPods and their ilk can be used for constructive and even educational purposes.
Two salient points the article neglects to mention:
- Dude, you don't have to, like, listen to the whole book. Audible has it's own version of Cliff's Notes, which will give you the downlow on "Crime & Punishment" in less than half and hour.
- If you're one of the obsessive types who actually wants to listen to the whole book, you may not have to pay for it. Lots of libraries offer free downloadable content through Netlibrary.
