So many ugly phones! And here is a new champion of the jewel-studden ranks: the LG Fusic Special Edition, splattered in a metastacy of Swarovsky crystals. More horrible bling, yes, but there is a subtle silver lining to that gold-painted cloud: the people who buy such things don't care about specifications, "features" or other cruft that adds to the hype without adding to the utility. They care about design and social perception, which might seem shallow and craven, but show how everyday and "human" these things are becoming ... even if it's in the sense of "All too human."
