Monster Hunter Portable 2 for the PSP went on sale in Japan yesterday, and from all accounts it's a madhouse over there. First-day sales reportedly total 500,000 units, which means that PSP might actually be on its way to having its first million-seller in its home country.
So what does that mean for the beleaguered portable? Not much, really. The original Monster Hunter Portable was a sleeper hit on the system, and that didn't do much for PSP's image or sales figures. Still, it's got to be nice for Sony to have at least this one game that can generate some buzz.
Not to mention for Capcom, the game's publisher. Then again, I'm still not sure why they seem to be dragging their feet on DS and Wii development, even considering this.
