Courtesy of the Cellar Image of the Day, this otherworldly photograph juxtaposing the wonder of a bursting firework with the malevolence of a gathering storm, bridged by the subtle intrusion of a plummeting comet's tail. The image is by Antti Kemppainen and is apparently only minimally Photoshopped to reduce red reflections from the exploding firework. The subdued glimmer of the comet's stardust is almost unnoticeable, but somehow truly makes the picture.
