Balck_mtv_logoGameSpot reports that although MTV has just gone through a crazy round of layoffs -- letting go 250 people, including executives -- the games side remains unaffected. That's good, as I know lots of fine people at MTV News, GameTrailers, and of course Harmonix, so it's good to see that even in the midst of reorganization and streamlining that they're keeping the important people around.

In fact, MTV looks at games as a "key growth area" and actually plans to add people to the division: "In the U.S., we will build resources against some new businesses – our interactive properties and some of our new networks," CEO Judy McGrath told PaidContent (emphasis added).
