Umm, was anybody feeling choice-deprived in the point-and-shoot digital camera market?
Well, at least one corporate behemoth feels there's room for more sleek-and-slim digicams. General Electric is starting up a camera business, General Imaging, and plans to have models on the market by mid-April.
The basic G1 has typical stats -- 7-megapixel sensor, 2.5-inch LCD screen, blah, blah, blah -- but GE is promising some unusual features across its product line, such as in-camera panorama stitching.
General Imaging will show off its initial lineup, which includes a printer, at the PMA trade show next month.
