I've been watching to see how LG's new 60" Plasma TV, encased in actual wood, played on the tubes. My prediction, of course, is for a general return to nature in product design in the coming months. By which I mean not the walnut burl-panelled despair of the 1970s but a new love for natural materials.

The response is a little disappointing; there's enthusiasm for it, sure, but it's as if it's so bizarre folks aren't sure what to make of it. Well, plaudits to LG (and others) for whipping out the chainsaw. More, please!

The pictured model, alas, is for the Korean market. I demand a Western release. I want it here, and I want it now.
