When a press release has to come with a pronunciation guide, (it's "moo-techy") maybe you should have just called it the Mega House Party Box, or somesuch. With a P.A., karaoke, disco lighting and shelf-stashed music systems all rolled into the package, the new Muteki range is designed, perhaps a little oddly, with a specific cultural market in mind.

"Created with the Latin culture in mind, Muteki product literature packed in the box comes in Spanish and English. It is also a festive companion for Hispanic fiestas like Quinceaneras and Cinco de Mayo."

Muteki models will offer up to 880 watts, D-Light Sync party lights which pulsate to the beat, and 5.1 stereo surround. It looks like the concept is a gluing together of recent shelf models with the house-party trimmings: The 880w LBT-ZX80D is the karaoke box, with DVD, DivX and MP3 support; the 720w LBT-ZX9 drops the drunken warbling-along, DVD player and DTS; the 560w LBT-ZX6 is touted as a gaming box, and the 520w MHC-LX10000 only gets a single graf of description which provides no information whatsoever. But what a model number! Wow.
