Taking a look around the Wired "blogoscape" (ouch) today reveals the following music-oriented nuggets:
- Monkey Bites' Michael Calore notes that Electronic Arts purchased SingShot -- the online karaoke site profiled on Listening Post last July -- apparently, with the idea of repurposing it into a feature within the Sims franchise. (Hopefully that doesn't mean my rendition of Funky Town will be critiqued by scores of virtual Simon Cowells.)
- Gadget Lab's Alexander Gelfand spotted a rubber-coated MP3 player forbabies called the PeaPod. No fair recording "Help, get me out of this toy!" andloading it onto the player.
- Also on Monkey Bites, Scott Gilbertson looks at Windows Vista and sees that the view forward for Windows users is clouded by an inclusion of DRM at a lower level than users of earlier Windows versions have had to contend with. "Here’s a real world example: if you have a high-end video card thatdoesn’t offer DRM support you might have to disable that card beforeplaying back your shiny new Blu-Ray disc."
