According to Neil Thompson, head of the UK side of all things Xbox, Microsoft will support whatever movie format we, the consumers, decide we like best, and if that means Blu-ray, so be it:

The only debate [between PS3 and 360] is if you want to watch Blu-ray movies and pay the extra money for that feature. We prefer to offer the consumer choice. Whatever format wins it is highly likely we will offer a solution.

Not exactly what folks who bought the HD-DVD add on for the 360 want to hear just now. But how hot would it be if Microsoft released a Blu-ray peripheral as well? Assuming, you know, it didn't cost as much as the 360 itself did. Oh, and I know the pic is totally out there. But I liked it.
