Somewhere else in the Wired world...
- The AppleTV is shipping, and that means it's time to re-examine Apple's latest digital lifestyle device. Rob over at Wired's Gadget Lab does the honors, pointing out five great things about the streaming media box and five problematic qualities. I think the No. 4 negative is a bit too much (I have no idea why Apple would release an incredibly low-end Mac that could undercut its existing offerings instead of a very high-end set-top box that extends Apple's reach into the living room!), but the analysis is sound.
- Leander's got an interesting column examining the way the public view Apple these days. We all know that Wall Street loves Apple (your stock price doesn't go up in the middle of a securities investigation otherwise), but it's quite something to really examine a bunch of different arenas at once. Now, if only I could get my IT guy to read this column and become an Apple advocate at my day job...
