What if Sony held a launch event and nobody showed up? The size and scale of the God of War II launch event at the Metreon last night vastly outweighed the actual presence of people who wanted to buy the game. Sony had set up barricades all the way down the block, but barely had a hundred people in line.
"Didn't you guys preorder," I asked them. I mean, they could have just gone down to EB Games in the morning and bought the game. A guy dressed as Kratos pulled up in a horse-drawn chariot at 10 PM, for which Sony had blocked off the whole street. Then he jumped out of the chariot and booked it inside, never to be seen again.

A press event as seen later in the evening: blurry, filled with drinks.

First guy in line had been there since 2:30 in the afternoon. He probably could have showed up about five hours later and still been the first guy in line.
Overestimating the amount of people who would stand in line for a readily available product.

TC Carson. Kept calling me "Regine" for some reason.
I asked Harry Hamlin, voice of Perseus and 1987's Sexiest Man Alive, to give Kratos some dating tips, ways to show his softer side. "Get a bunny," said Hamlin.

(Not shown: Kratos, booking it inside. He apparently had to go to the bathroom, after hours of delays.)
