JoWood Productions has signed on to be the video game partner of this year's sci-fi and fantasy film festival, Sci-Fi London. In exchange for sponsorship, a teaser for JoWood's games--Sam & Max, Genesis Rising, Spaceforce-Rogue Universe, and Dawnspire--will be shown before each film at the festival. Given the number of films being shown and the number of attendees, it's a pretty sweet deal for JoWood.More titles will be added in the weeks leading up to the festival.

I'm posting this largely because I really, really want someone to start this kind of festival here in the U.S. Or send me to the one in the UK, whichever. That is my kinda geekfest, right there. Of course, I learned how to knit just so I could make my own Dr. Who scarf, too, so perhaps I'm a wee bit biased.

Keep reading for a list of movies being shown at the festival, which runs from May 2 - 6.

__JoWooD Productions sign up as Official Games Sponsor for SCI FI LONDON...______SCI-FI-LONDON
is delighted to announce that JoWooD Productions, one of the world's leading developers and publishers of entertainment software, today confirms that they have signed up to become the “official video games partner” for this year’s SCI-FI-LONDON, the UK’s only dedicated SF and
Fantastic film festival, 2 – 6 may 2007.

JoWood Productions have a number of forthcoming PC titles which will form part of the festival line-up, including: Sam and Max, Genesis Rising, Spaceforce – Rogue
Universe, and Dawnspire. In the next few weeks new titles will be announced including a critically acclaimed game coming soon to consoles.

Louis Savy, festival director said

Each year, we choose one publisher to become part of the festival line up and Jowood’s titles - fit perfectly with our core audience. We are also extremely pleased to have secured this dynamic gaming publisher as our sponsor.”

Richard Grantham UK sales director Jowood Productions said.

“JoWooD
are delighted to be involved with such a prestigious event as
SCI-FI-LONDON. The month of May used to be a key focal point for the games industry where we would meet journalists, buyers and most importantly generate public and industry awareness for forthcoming products. With the demise of E3, it has become more important to find opportunities or events where we can communicate directly with core audiences and the SCI-FI LONDON film festival presents JoWooD with a fantastic opportunity to promote our key brands.”

As part of the deal, a teaser will be presented before each film at the festival; this will be in the form of an exclusive trailer showcasing all aspects of the games. Genesis Rising, Spaceforce – Rogue Universe, and Dawnspire will also be featured along side Alienware in a pre-awareness campaign for the festival; this involves a 100,000 leaflet campaign in London at retail outlets and all major forthcoming events. The leaflet will detail a competition where people will have the chance to win an
Alienware rig and copies of the games. To enter the competition, they can go directly to the official festival site www.sci-fi-london.com or
