
It was over before it even got started, pulled by the auctioneer before bidding got past $50 on the part, which goes on sale at some indefinitite future date for about ten times that price. AMD/ATI's R600-based high-end video card was almost mine.
It's not clear why the auction was pulled; the seller has a good rating, and the card is being sold "as is" on a "I don't know what this thing is, but here it is anyway" basis. The Inquirer noticed what it was, but again, only after the sale was pulled. My guess is the seller realized what he or she had and this will end up relisted as "OMG SECRET PROTOTYPE R600!!!! WRTH MILLIONS!" But we'll see.
