The Venezuelan Solidarity Campaign has beseeched U2 frontman Bono to put a stop to development of Mercenaries 2: World in Flames. Bono is an investor in Pandemic studios, the folks making the game which is set in Venezuela and centers around a political tyrant in charge of the oil industry. Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez has labeled it as "psychological warfare." Says the VSC about World in Flames:
The group wants Bono to use his "considerable influence" as...uh...a pop star...to stop the sale of the game. It's hard to believe that anyone familiar with the franchise would take its stance on anything--let alone politics--remotely seriously.
