Even the swankiest desktop replacement notebooks cut ergonomic corners, and over time those little flaws can add up to a nasty case of repetitive stress. The best prevention? Try the Logitech Alto, a smart, sharp laptop dock with a focus on comfort. It sports a full-sized keyboard (with numeric keypad), screen-riser, wrist pad, cable-organizer and 3-slot USB hub. With a sexy combination of piano gloss, rubberized black, and ebony-grained veneer, the Alto looks classy, and folds up into a tidy executive-portfolio-sized package. If you spend a lot of time with your Windows notebook, the Alto is an investment your wrists, neck, and fingers will thank you for. —Roger Thomasson

WIRED Looks great, works great, priced great. Effectively reduces fatigue in a number of ergonomic problem-areas. Excellent keyboard provides pleasant tactile response and lots of useful hot-keys. Light and portable. Painless setup.

TIRED Sorry Mac users, dock is only compatible with a Windows OS. Silicon coated hinge is a dust-magnet. Underpowered USB hub requires extra power supply for optimal use. Rear USB ports can be a pain to access. Front-loading CD drives mandate an awkward laptop-lift to access.
