Kidnapped in the dead of night, sucked by a beam of light into the bowels of a looming alien spacecraft and placed in stirrups upon a cold table, one wouldn't be too pleased to spot the pictured, knob-likes devices emerge from a wall and begin making their way toward bowels of a different kind. Thankfully, this surgical, probe-like objects are completely benign (if bigger than they look), offering audiophile-quality sound rather than a the prospect of a disconcerting limp.
Created by former BMW designer Aonghus O'hEocha, they're made by his bespoke audio system company based in Ireland. Made of aluminium and a steel/PVC composite, the speakers offer 200w per channel, a 1" twweeter drive, 11" subwoofers, and weigh in at a hefty 55 lbs.
Oh, the price. How does nine thousand dollars sound?
