It seems the Brits didn't get away with a violence free PS3 launch after all.
Twenty one year old student Angela Sanchez found out the hard way that midnight shopping in Walthamstow (a dodgy area in North London) is not the best idea.
In an interview with British tabloid The Sun, he said:
It seems he wasn't the only one, either. In West End of London where the high profile [launch](https://www.wired.com/gadgets/2007/03/ps3_launches_in.html "PS3 Launches in EU

But elsewhere police were advising shops to stay closed until the morning, and there were a scattering of muggings around the country, including a gang grabbing a Playstation and making a getaway in a car.
All this is bad enough, but it also seems poor Andrea had had to lay down £625 for his bundle. That's $US1,227. Double ouch.
