There are lots of good reasons why rational people might not want to put a hard-and-fast deadline on removing American combat troops from Iraq.
Repeating "September the 11th" over and over again would not be one of those reasons, however.
You wanna talk about the "surge's" signs of progress in Baghdad? Go for it. Bring up fears of giving the insurgents room to wait us out? Legit, totally.
But dredging up 9/11 -- especially when the dredger himself has said there's no link between Iraq and the terrorist attacks here at home (an assessment shared by all kinds of independent commissions reviewing the evidence) -- is just lame. Enough, already.
