Gamer Theory was an interesting experiment in publishing--a "networked book" that used an experimental web format to collect comments from readers on the work as it was in progress. The author, McKenzie Wark, has taken those comments and contributions and used them to revise the book to come up with Gamer Theory 2.0.
Rather than try to explain to you what Gamer Theory is all about, I'll just let them do it:
The book covers an interesting array of games, from Rez to State of Emergency to Katamari Damacy. If, unlike Kohler, you've always wanted to write a book but haven't quite managed it, this could be your chance to share your brilliance and insight with the gaming world.
The Institute for the Future of the Book is responsible for *Gamer Theory 2.0'*s avant-garde format; the traditional paper and ink version was published by Harvard University Press.
