ArchimedsSkip, the makers of Chibi-Robo, have announced their new Nintendo DS game, Archime-DS. Actually, "game" might be a misnomer here. It's more of a tool for social entertainment -- in the screens they've shown so far, one player writes a question on his DS, and then other players can answer the question by writing or drawing something on their screens. The first player can then view all the answers, and pick the one he likes best.

This might be a good time to mention that I played this last year with the gang from Skip, back when it was still a prototype. It was lots of fun. One person -- I think it was director Kenichi Nishi -- wrote, "Who are you in love with?", and everybody around the table tried to write the best humorous answer. "You," or an arrow pointing to somebody at the table. I think I won when I drew a caricature of one of the other people at the table. How we laughed.

As such, the game actually requires two to four players, although you only need one DS card. You might call this a rather limited application. First of all, I assume they've added more content, although they haven't revealed any on the home page. Second, it only costs 2100 yen in Japan, less than half the price of a typical DS game.
