This amazing fruit "bowl" is an entry in the "Ceramics for Breakfast" competition at Designboom. The unfortunately named "The Ring", by Joung Myung Lee, is fashioned from porous porcelain to let the fruit breathe. You load it from the top and take the fruit out from the bottom, ingeneously giving automatic stock rotation: you always eat the oldest stuff first. It looks like it would be a bugger to clean, though.
Not for sale, unless it wins.
