Sprint/Nextel, America’s third largest wireless carrier, may be experiencing some Connectile Dysfunction as the company revealed that its CEO, Gary Forsee, chose to turn down a 2006 bonus of $414,120. The new details emerged in the company’s SEC filing this week. Forsee’s decision to forgo last year’s bonus (his 2006 compensation totaled $21.3 million) may serve to temporarily improve his profile as Sprint’s wireless subscriber numbers are way down. Sprint’s new deal with Japanese carrier KDDI may boost its short-term prospects, but its flaccid ad campaign is still just another reminder that no amount of Viagra references can bring the sexy back if subscribers are disconnecting.
