Waxing nostalgia never ends, especially when it comes to video games. Tonight I Am 8-Bit opens at Gallery Nineteen Eighty Eight in Los Angeles. The annual show features artwork from over 100 artists who've reinterpreted their favorite games as paintings, illustrations, sculptures, and vinyl figurines.

This year's work includes a playable 5.5-foot Atari controller that will be attached to a *Mega Man 2600 *specially developed for the show to celebrate the Blue Bomber’s 20th Anniversary. To wet your appetite, curator Jon Gibson was kind enough to send me images of some of the pieces included in tonight's show.
