Among the mysteries surrounding the iPhone is just who's making all the technological wonderment packed inside the shiny case.
While nothing has been confirmed by Apple, BusinessWeek puts the clues together and concludes that struggling German manufacturer Banda is behind the oh-so-critical touchscreen display. Banda, which used to make phone cases, is the only screen fabricator capable of cranking out displays in the size and numbers Apple needs. And they've got the only screens that can understand simultaneous input from two fingers.
Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Motorola are all Banda customers already, but they may have to look elsewhere if they want to get ahead of Apple in the smartphone market.
